iPod Touch & Classic

Two small thoughts regarding the future of the two iPods. Given how portable the iPad is and how much I associate it with online activities, I know that I wouldn’t get the same amount of use out of it if it was merely the WiFi version. With this in mind, would an iPod Touch with 3G capabilities work? Not phone, just the data. It would make it much more useful out and about, but if like the iPad, should not accrue too much of an extra cost.

Regarding the iPod Classic should, it, in addition to ridding itself of a HDD and gaining a SSD, should be given the capabilities of an external hard drive; most people’s entire iTunes could fit on it. It could actually be used as the library.

Just two thoughts…

I still don’t get why Australia is implementing a filter; spying of phone calls, emails and web browsing; and the ACTA. Governments traditionally only instate oppressive tactics when there is a need to, when the public are dangerous to them, but we are a wealthy country, our economy is strong and ever if the US economy collapses we are tied to China and will, at least, have a much better chance of surviving that, for instance the US.We are wealthy; because of this the Australian people are happy, because they are happy there is no need for them to question the government. Why is the government oppressing us when we are under their control already? The US aren’t trying to instate [as] oppressive tactics yet they are on the possible verge of collapse (within which, the people will not be happy and will blame the government), they need these filters and spying more than Australia yet Australia is the country leading the oppression and we are the healthiest.
I still don’t know why, it’s going against tradition and it makes no sense for this to happen to Australia?

Scores of MP3s

Scores of MP3s

I didn’t think that I would use the iPod app on the iPad much; the iPad isn’t that portable. But I’ve found that I enjoy [many] aspects of it more than the iPhone or iPod. Not because the iPad iPod app is better than the iPhone iPod app, but because I have the ability to use a pdf reader to read the score with the music.

Obviously, this is limited to sedentary moments, but I’m now glad I got the 64gb iPad so I can put a healthy amount of scores and MP3s on it.

Splash of Colour

I thought this place could do with a random splash of colour. These were the nearest colourful items I had.

We need a new word for Journalism.

I don’t care if journalism dies. Why? Because it died long ago. Journalism today is an amalgamation of pop journalism. Articles with a controversial headline merely for the purpose of ad revenue, articles on meaningless pop culture, and newspapers, all owned by the same entity or having the exact same agenda (etc.) have destroyed journalism; the mainstream is nothing but dribble. The old-school journalism still, exists but more in niche markets (where the general public avoid). We need a new word for Journalism, the current meaning has occupying forces on it and they appear to have a world-wide backing…

Any ideas?

Proposal for Arts Magazine Project

Please register interest here!

PDF or proposal here.

This is a brief initial proposal for a Magazine/Gazette/Journal/etc. relating to the fine arts and the arts in general. I am looking for initial interest not contributors or contributions. However, anyone who merely wishes to register interest can.

I am also looking for people that would be willing to help start this project. Preferably people from many different aspects of the art world (music, literature, Art, photography, film, etc.) to represent there respective areas.

My initial thoughts on the project is that it will be strongly academic in it’s approach. With that in mind, contributions to the project would need to be academically minded and well informed about their respective areas; simply dabbling in the area or writing reviews elsewhere would not be what I’d consider appropriate experience.

…In other words, I wasted my life.

Pierre Schaeffer

So these were the three circumstances that compelled me to experiment in music: I was involved in music; I was working with turntables (then with tape-recorders); I was horrified by modern 12-tone music. I said to myself, ‘Maybe I can find something different… maybe salvation, liberation, is possible.’ Seeing that no-one knew what to do anymore with DoReMi, maybe we had to look outside that… Unfortunately it took me forty years to conclude that nothing is possible outside DoReMi… In other words, I wasted my life.
